Sold! Congratulations to Jason and Corinne Cain of Aurora Australis Alpacas for their purchase of Mystery!
Mystery is so friendly and easy going; even pregnant she always wants a kiss and chin scratch! Mystery joined our farm with her bay black female cria at side born 6/14/13 sired by Silver Elation. Her well grown and easy keeping cria was the evidence of her great mothering and excellent milk production. Mystery puts a lot into her cria which shows in her more lanky body style during her pregnancy and nursing.
Her little girl cria, Sparrow Lark, has nice crimp, density, and softness, with a gentle spirit and great conformation -- truly a good foundation girl that we are keeping. We are already looking forward to breeding this little cria one day!
Mystery has some exceptional grey bloodlines, as the granddaughter of both Mr. Roosevelt and Rayo del Sol, and is a great addition to a grey breeding program!
We actually like Mystery quite a bit, and like what she had produced in her girl, Lark. She, and her girl, are sweethearts. We've had these diamond in the rough dams before that put everything in their crias, and they often surprise you!
But, though our program is moving increasingly towards blacks and greys, we just don't have the room to keep everyone. So, we are opting to keep Lark in the herd and let another buy Mystery at a great price to build their foundation with her great production qualities.
We had bred Mystery to Master Piece for a 2015 true black male. He has a nicely upright and balanced frame, moving easily with good confirmation. His fleece envelopes him, so you want to 'pet him' to fill his softness. His fiber is soft with moderate crimp. Excellent fiber to spin, especially with its inky blackness.
Mystery will be held open through the winter, so you can choose her next breeding, at your farm or from our herdsire row at significant discount.
