Salt River Alpacas

Description

Legs is a very special girl on our farm. She is one of the last crias out of one of our favorite herdsires, Salt River's Firecracker, and the last cria out of an outstanding dam, Salt River's Miley Ray. These two had exceptional fiber traits, and they did not disappoint when they produced Legs! With beautiful luster her 2022 histogram showed an AFD of 20.7 and and SD of 5.2.

Her 2023 skin biopsy revealed the following:
Density - 68.25
S/P ratio - 13.9
P-S spread - 5.8 (26.1 - 18.3)

2026 EPD rankings
AFD - 2.06%
SD - 10.74%

Legs had her first offspring - Salt River's Ledger - in fall of 2023 - and he scored a respectable 78.5 in the Suri Network All Suri Fleece show with the judge commenting on his luster, handle and fineness. His 2026 EPD rankings are in and they are outstanding - AFD ranks 1.02% and SD ranks 1.15%!!

We held Legs open as we switched to all summer births, and we are now working to get her pregnant again!
